I have been a practicing Vegetarian for over 5 years but moving towards a ‘plant based diet’ and loving it. I feel happy and healthy and when I exercise my body feels lighter and I feel faster walking and cycling.
The plant based food revolution is on a roll with no signs of stopping. So forget diets and leap in to discover the real joy of food and flavours and look and feel so much better.
Vegan versus Plant based diet
Initially going Vegan was the next stage to my new lifestyle, this includes being morally and socially responsible in everything that I do. Feeling content with the decisions that I make that have consequences for others.
I nolonger want to be responsible for animal suffering, I want to reduce the demand for the import of pigs on a massive scale by promoting the animal free diet.
No more diary. I am not there yet but I have significantly reduced my intake of diary products and this maybe the main reason I feel so much better. Diary consumption
Vegans are passionate animal lovers, I am too, but for me it is so much bigger than that.
- Eating animals negatively impacts the environment.
- Eating animal products are linked to some cancers
- Eating animals in not necessary
- Plant based food is exciting and tasty
- plant based food is cheap
- plant based food helps me feel healthy and young
- no more diary is also reducing animal suffering but improving my health
How diary-free improves health
Having spoken to others that have ditched the diary I have come to realise that diary is potentially a major health issue that we just don’t enough about. Here are my reasons and benefits from removing diary from my diet.
- Loose weight
- Reduce bloating
- Improved skin tone
- More energy
Environmental reasons to change to plant based diet
Eating billions of chickens and killing cows is just not sustainable. It is more energy intensive to raise cows than grow corn.
The water consumption in raising dairy cattle is far higher than in growing plant based food.
Some great research has been done by Happy Happy Vegan into the facts and figures that I won’t regurgitate, but protecting our planet for now and future generations is a human responsibility.
